About Collision Repair Technology
The Collision Repair program combines classroom instruction and hands-on practice to provide a more specific education on how to repair the body of newer automobiles.
Fully skilled automotive body repairers must have good reading ability and basic mathematics and computer skills. Restoring uni-body automobiles to their original form requires repairers to follow instructions and diagrams in technical manuals and to make precise three-dimensional measurements of the position of one body section in relation to another. In addition, repairers should enjoy working with their hands and be able to pay attention to detail while they work.
Paint and refinishing
We have completed straightening out the bed on the 2005 Ford truck that was totaled by an insurance company. We are down to the color sanding and buffing of the paint. The students are learning final detail on clear-coat.
Collision Repair Technology Restores Truck
The Collision Repair Technology class is working on a 2005 Ford 4 door pickup which was totaled by an insurance company. The bed was completely destroyed and the back of the cab also had to be replaced. There was extensive damage to the passenger door also. The students have done a great job so far of getting this truck to its current condition. We will post pictures of the finished product in the coming weeks. Click here for slideshow.
